On May 4, 2026, Far Eastern Private School, Al Shahba Campus, participated in Day 1 of the 26th Cycle of the Inter-School Environmental Public Speaking Competition (ISEPSC) hosted by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).

The event was held online through Zoom, with a total of 21 teams showcasing their insights on the topic “Nature Positive Economies: Are We Ready for a World Where Ecosystems Come First?” In preparation for the competition, students explored the possibility of a world where the economy and ecosystems flourish alongside each other and then presented their solutions, which turned mere possibility into reality.

Students Ron Castro (10B), Chloe Gochy (10C), Sheika Panopio (10D), Fhionna Tapia (10C), and Brianna Tito (10C) highlighted the UAE’s water scarcity in relation to farming within the nation and addressed such with a vertical garden utilizing hydroponic systems.

Through extensive research and eloquent delivery, FEPS Al Shahba placed first among the 21 participating teams. That being said, we congratulate the speakers and the ever-dedicated faculty for their thought-provoking and innovative showcase of sustainability. Their achievement underscores the power of collaboration and creativity and serves as an inspiration for future projects addressing environmental issues.
