On November 26, 2025, Far Eastern Private School Al Shahba brimmed with excitement and pride. Students, teachers, and families gathered to celebrate UAE National Day, a lively and historically rich event observed each year on December 2.

Though the UAE, indeed, is a young nation that was formed in 1971 under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, its story reflects unity and resilience. Such a spirit of togetherness shone throughout the eventful program, with students paying tribute to the Emirates’ heritage.

The festivities kicked off with a lively performance from the school’s dazzling Drum and Lyre Corps, sporting the UAE flag’s colors. Following this, a wave of students clad in traditional clothing filled the main ground; each grade and section assembled in the space.

After this, the Entrance of the Colors took place, led by the school’s dedicated Marshalls, who carried the flags with dignity and respect.

Pride in every step.

The atmosphere then shifted to one of respect with both Islamic and Christian prayers, followed by the UAE and Philippine national anthems led by the FEPS Chorale and Ms. Jeharalyn P. Ysulan. Students recited the FEPS Mission and Vision, which flowed smoothly into the heartfelt singing of the FEPS Hymn.

The principal of the school, Ms. Mary Jane P. Onato, was then cordially welcomed by the audience and gave her inspiring introductory remarks.  Her message marked the official start of the celebration and set the stage for an exciting day.

The audience was then enthralled with the Primary department’s joyful energy and enthusiasm. Shortly after, the vibrant Intermediate department dazzled everyone with their talent and inventiveness.

Later the energetic high school department took the stage and enthralled the audience with their strong and creative performances.

As the celebration finished, the program’s remarkable emcees shared their heartfelt closing remarks that brought together the amazing events of the day. FEPS’ UAE National Day celebration concluded not just as a tribute to the nation, but also as a reminder of the unity and shared identity that continue to inspire generations across the Emirates.
