On October 13, 2025, young writers from FEPS Al Shahba, FEPS Halwan, and NFPS came together at Far Eastern Private School, Al Shahba, for a creative writing seminar titled “Ink and Imagination: Writing Beyond Limits.”

Attendees from the sister schools came together to attend the creative writing seminar hosted by Far Eastern Private School Al Shahba. Alongside the guests, writers of The FEPSian Torch attended the event as well, aiming to help them expand their knowledge about the art of writing and its many elements.

The program began with the singing of the UAE National Anthem, followed by both Christian and Islamic prayers, with welcoming remarks delivered by Miss Mary Jane P. Onato, the school’s principal, as she inspired students to embrace their imagination and creativity and use it as a powerful tool for expressing themselves.

The Head of the English Department, Ms. Lovely Grace M. Espiritu, introduced the seminar’s speaker and main lecturer, Ms. Lhycel Magbanua, who guided the students and shared valuable and important lessons about different writing styles, how to express yourself through writing, and how to write properly and meaningfully.

An interactive quiz bowl added fun to the seminar, where students had to guess which writer said a specific line. This lively activity kept everyone engaged and alive, which brought out lots of laughs and learning moments.

The seminar also explored how a simple sentence can be expressed in many different ways, depending on the emotion behind it. This activity helped the young writers see how tone, expression, and perspective can completely change the meaning of a message.

The event ended with the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation given by the school heads, followed by a closing message from Ms. Seprina T. Sangcajo, reminding everyone to keep writing and to never stop nurturing their imagination. Ms. Sangcajo encouraged young minds to discover their creativity and the endless possibilities that writing can offer.

As the seminar came to an end, one thing was for certain: it was a success. It was a day where young, beautiful minds came together. Talents were sharpened, and everyone walked away with wider knowledge, new ideas, confidence, and deeper love for writing.
