On December 12, 2024, Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba) participated in a community cleanup drive at Maleiha campsite, organized by the Emirates Environmental Group.

Students from FEPS-Al Shahba take part in the cleanup drive.

The cleanup drive was preceded by a short assembly during which the UAE National Anthem was sung as one of the organizers officially opened the event. Their speech made the importance of environmental responsibility and community participation clear in keeping the desert clean.

Afterward, gloves and trash bags were then given to each volunteer to collect trash in the desert. To help maintain the area’s natural beauty, they spread across the area and collected different types of garbage, from plastic bottles to wrappers.

The event ended with a photo opportunity of the FEPSians and the garbage collected during the day with the refreshments provided by the organizers. The cleanup showcased the power of community action and FEPS’ commitment to a greener tomorrow.
