To express our most heartfelt gratitude to the women who have inspired us to become the individuals we are today, FEPSians have yet again gathered alongside each other at the multi-purpose court of the FEPS (Al Shahba) campus on March 20, 2024.
Mother’s Day is a valued occasion that is celebrated globally to dedicate and honor the sensational women who have played a significant role in our lives. FEPSians took a moment of their day to acknowledge the multiple responsibilities mothers have, the countless sacrifices they have to make, and their roles as the epitome of selfless love.
As the Masters of Ceremonies, Jamilah Gregorio and Grazella Sibal, lit up the court with their warm greetings, the program officially began with invocation which consisted of the Christian prayer and Islamic prayer, the singing of the U.A.E national anthem, the reciting of the FEPS Vision and Mission, and of course, the singing of the FEPS Hymn.
This was followed by the heart-warming opening remarks given by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) President; Zareth Ulrych Lim, which left the crowd in awe as he made sure to include his sincerest appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all mothers.
Afterward, the selected Youth for The Environment Club Members were welcomed on the stage to do a brief but informative presentation about the importance of celebrating our beloved Mother Earth on Mother’s Day.
Once the Youth for The Environment Club had finished with their discussion and the applause had subsided, the selected Filipino Club members graced the crowd with a Tagalog poem they prepared, dwelling on the devotion of mothers. Following this, the English Club Members then presented the bewildering poem they had prepared to show recognition to all the persevering mothers, leaving the crowd with pure and genuine appreciation.
This was then followed by a series of intermission numbers, wherein FEPSians amazed the audience with their melodious singing; All of which brightened up the atmosphere. As the talented performances came to an end, Adriel Dionco went forward to the stage to conclude the program with his closing remarks.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, let us not forget the mothers who play an anchor in this stormy sea of life. A mother is not simply identified as those biologically given this title, a mother is a loving and guiding hand that helps us as we learn and grow. As the saying goes, “Of all the gifts that life has to offer; A loving mother is the greatest of them all.”
