To commemorate the United Nations’ Celebration, FEPS (Al Shahba) honored the theme, “Intensifying Basic Sciences with Sustainable Development”. Showcasing and enhancing the creativity of youth, students were given the chance to turn their visions into reality through a Poster-Making Competition.
Grades 7-10 volunteer students took part in the contest. They were given an allotted time to create illustrations signifying the given theme. It was a time for them to participate and interact and be recognized in the field of art. The day ended with all the posters displayed along the school halls, serving to acknowledge the vision of each participant.
The competition gave each FEPSian an excellent experience. As Faith Tuason, the 3rd placer, shared, she was nervous at the beginning but had fun designing as well as interacting with the other students. Her work showed unity and innovation.
On the other hand, John Tadanes created a wonderful piece that ultimately earned him the 2nd place award. His work started well and ended wonderfully which led it to be an eye-catching artwork.
And, of course, the 1st placer, Elyza Bienzei Espanola, created a remarkable masterpiece. It showcased and related each element to the theme. Her painting is truly memorable by mind and heart due to how beautifully it was done.
Overall, with the United Nations Celebration only held once a year, the FEPSians’ art serve as reminders as to why we celebrate it — for unity, peace, innovation and security.
