On October 9, 2025, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Day, the Supreme Student Government led a meaningful event that brought light to the importance of caring for one’s emotional well-being and the mental health of every student.

Together for awareness, understanding, and support.

Wearing green to symbolize growth, hope, and healing, the Supreme Student Government opened the event with each officer introducing World Mental Health Day. Established on October 10, 1992, this day is dedicated to raising awareness on mental health struggles that many go through.

Sheika Panopio and Jeimee De Guzman shared words of encouragement, highlighting different emotions and challenges that we students may face every day. They shared facts and history of Mental Health Awareness Day, talked about its importance, and introduced the school’s Peer Conversation Buddy Program for those who need support.

“You can feel lonely, but you are never alone in this world.” – Mr.  Aquino on World Mental Health Day

Lastly, the event featured FEPS’ Guidance Counselor, Mr. Rodolfo Aquino, who shared his experiences in helping students throughout his career. He spoke sincerely about the importance of understanding our emotions and coping with stress, stressing the fact that there will always be people willing to listen and help. He mentioned causes of stress and emotional conflicts we face in our day-to-day life as students and the importance of self-compassion with methods of supporting and helping out friends and those around us.

As FEPS Shahba united as one to observe Mental Health Day, we are reminded that taking care of our mental well-being is just as important as caring for our physical health. By starting open, honest conversations, we affirm that no one has to face their struggles alone.

A day of learning, understanding, and caring—because mental health is everyone’s concern.

Let this day be more than just a moment—let it be a movement toward kindness, understanding, and the reminder that mental health matters every day no matter who you are, where you are, and what your challenges are.
