On February 9, 2025, club members of the Youth for the Environment from Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba) were chosen to represent their school at the Tree Planting Initiative in Al Bataeh, Sharjah.

Building roots for tomorrow, students join the tree-planting campaign.

FEPSians teamed up with students from other schools for the Protected Areas Authority’s (EPAA) Tree Planting Campaign, which aimed to promote sustainability and spread awareness about the importance of planting trees.

The event started with a quick introduction to the day’s activities. After that, students split into three groups, each assigned to plant trees in specific areas.

As the day came to an end, students walked away with more than just dirt on their hands; they gained a deeper appreciation for how essential trees are—not just as sources of oxygen but as vital protectors of our environment.

This project showed students how important trees are for our planet. Pollution and climate change are big problems, but trees help by cleaning the air and absorbing carbon dioxide. Planting more trees might seem small, but it makes a big difference in keeping our world healthy for the future.
