Every academic year, a new batch of FEPSians take on the responsibility of leadership in the school. After two years of distance learning, Far Eastern Private School (Al Shabha Campus) once again holds its face-to-face Miting de Avance on September 15, 2022 to help students decide on the candidates they will vote for.
For students to collaborate and share ideas on their vision of an ideal school year, candidates were grouped into four parties: A.S.T.R.A.L. (Accomplished Students Taking on the Responsibility the be Altruistic Leaders) Party led by Stephen Villo, C.L.O.V.E.R. (Courageous Leaders Open to Visualize Encouraging Righteousness) Party led by Edcel David, U.N.O. (Union of Never-ending Opportunities) Party led by Jessamyn Guinanao, and the O.N.C.E. (Observant and Nurtured Citizens Embracing Camaraderie) Party led by Mhariam Abouelyazid.
The Miting de Avance was where the aspiring student leaders presented themselves for the last time before the elections, clarifying their ground and principles. With the theme ‘Inspiring Students to be More Globally Competitive Learners in Society’, the four parties went head-to-head attempting to win student votes.
FEPSians were enticed by the well-presented campaigns of the four parties which displayed the efforts of the candidates running for the Supreme Student Government. Through speeches, platforms, and performances, this year’s program showed the students’ creativity, talents, and abilities to lead in the face of adversity.
With each party having its main agenda, FEPS Miting de Avance for School Year 2022-2023 was a success that ended with a reminder to all student voters – “Be bright and vote for the right!”
