On September 23, 2024, students and faculty of Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba) came together across both school grounds for a dual celebration. The event marked the official introduction of the newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Government, as well as the commemoration of International Peace Day under the theme, ‘Cultivating a Culture of Peace.’

The morning commenced with students from Grades 4 to 10 assembling in their designated areas to participate in the dual celebration. This gathering set the stage for a day filled with unity and significance, as students eagerly prepared to witness both of the day’s main events.

The introduction of the newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Government was then presented by the school’s vice principal, Mr. Paul Benedict Yacap. He led the formal presentation, highlighting the new student leaders who will represent their peers in the new academic year.

As the program progressed, the celebration of International Peace Day began. Under the leadership of the Supreme Student Government, each officer delivered a speech highlighting the significance of International Peace Day and the relevance of its celebration.

Following each speech delivered by the officers, the Vice Presidents of each block led a pledge to commemorate International Peace Day, emphasizing the importance of cultivating peace within our communities and beyond.

To formally close the program, the Supreme Student Government invited all students to participate in a dance titled, “We Are Unity,” serving as a vibrant touch to promoting a sense of camaraderie among students.

Through this dual celebration, FEPSians not only learned the valuable knowledge of leadership and unity but also engaged in meaningful discussions about their roles as active participants in fostering a symphonic school environment. By witnessing the commitment of their peers and the importance of collaboration, they gained a deeper understanding of the impact that strong leadership and collective effort can have on promoting peace and cooperation.
