Long, long ago, before time was ever known, there was a boy named Jake who lived in a peaceful town.

One day, a shop he had never seen before suddenly appeared in town. Jake got a little curious and proceeded to enter the unknown shop. Once he entered, the mysterious owner greeted him and said that his shop sells magical items.

Of course, Jake did not believe him and thought that the shop owner was only trying to fool him. Seeing the look on Jake’s face, the owner took a magic pen off the shelf and offered it for free, while giving him an eerie smile. Jake then took the pen with him and went home.

The next day while on his way to school, Jake wondered about the magic pen and whether it even worked. He knew the only way to find out was to use it. He tried different ways but nothing worked, the pen wouldn’t even write. So, he decided to ask the shop owner how to use the pen and what it does.

To aid Jake’s curiosity, the shop owner took one magic pen from the shelf and chanted the word, “Abracadabra.” The pen started to move and write on its own! “I hope this answers your questions, young boy,” said the shop owner. Jake was bewildered beyond his mind and quickly tried it out with his pen.

In the following days, Jake continued experimenting with the pen and discovered that it could do everything he wanted for a magic pen. His homework, assignments, and exams were perfectly done—even his teachers praised him for his results. He became dependent on the pen and let it handle everything. This went on for a couple of weeks.

But one day, the magic pen stopped working. He did everything he could think of to fix it, but nothing worked! So, he decided to look for the shop owner again to ask what happened to the pen and why it has stopped working. The owner simply said that the pen ran out of magic, but told him not to worry as there is a way to refill it. For that, he needed to chant the word, “Alakazam.”

Jake quickly chanted the magic word and was happy to see the pen working again. But little did he know that he was tricked by the shop owner into chanting a forbidden spell, which slowly turns one into the object he casts the spell on, the more he uses it. In this case, Jake would become a pen. He gladly continued using the pen as usual, not knowing the consequences of his actions.

A month had then passed and it was just another one of Jake’s mornings. However, this one felt particularly peculiar as Jake found himself unable to control his body. Alas, Jake had turned into a pen! He panicked and yelled boomingly, nearly breaking a glass with his scream, but no one heard him except the shop owner.

He got teleported into the hands of the man who just laughed at him and told him not to trust anyone so easily. The mischievous shop owner put him on the shelf for display, waiting for the next victim.

THE END.
