January 25, 2023 — FEPS Al Shahba’s Girls Varsity Team advanced to the semi-finals as they dropped dimes against Amity School at the Women’s Sports Club Tournament.
Owing to their outstanding performances, players Sofia Liwanag, Jessica Cabato, and Fouzia Khan, who bagged points throughout the game, paved the way for the team’s victory.
In an interview with FEPS Basketball Varsity members, Liwanag stated that their training had made them equal to, if not better than, their opponents. “(This year’s) opponents were easier (to play against) than last year’s because we had more training and understood how to defend against the opposition.”
Rianna Rigor also added that their team’s control over the court was a critical factor in their victory. ”The group performed admirably. (We) could control the ball and keep it from reaching the opponent’s court.”
With a 3-0 win-loss record during the game, the FEPS Girls’ Basketball Team is bound to compete for its final spot.
