To further enhance knowledge, Far Eastern Private School’s (Al Shahba) grades 9-10 took an educational journey to the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology on February 5, 2024.
FEPS (Al Shahba) took a field trip to the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space sciences & Technology, an academy aimed to to develop, promote and contribute to education in astronomy and space sciences globally and the region.
Additionally, the students watched the presentation, “Cosmic Odyssey.” Dazzling lights transported them through galaxies, constellations, and black holes. Students were left in awe as the show continued, featuring a short laser show and flashy lights.
Furthermore, they also explored the world of astronauts and their struggles in space in the intriguing presentation, “Astronaut.” After the film, students asked questions to the speaker about the show.
Following the presentations, the grades 9-10 explored the academy’s exhibits of telescopes, diagrams, and interactive displays. This hands-on display gave students a deeper understanding of the technology we use to explore the universe.
As the students departed from the academy, this field trip served as a powerful testament to the academy’s determination to fuel the curiosity of the next generation of space enthusiasts. It kindled a desire for exploration within the students and one that was memorable long after their departure.
