On October 15, 2024, Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba) conducted a successful fire drill focused on enhancing emergency preparedness and student safety. 

FEPS conducted a fire drill, involving all students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 under the guidance of teachers and staff. It was led by Safety Officer Ronald Cabanada, with the support of the FEPS Marshals, the drill allowed everyone to practice safe and efficient evacuation protocols.

Fire drills are a critical component of safety protocols in schools, designed to prepare students and staff for emergencies. Given the potential for disasters to occur without warning, understanding the importance of these fire drills can save lives and foster a culture of safety within the school environment.

The purpose of school fire drills is varied and plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors in the event of a fire or other emergencies, in addition to creating a safe environment by preparing students and staff to respond effectively in emergencies, thereby reducing the risk of injury or loss of life in the event of a fire.

At the end of the day, this showed the school’s commitment to its students’ and staff’s safety by maintaining regular fire drills. This proactive approach ensures the community is prepared to respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively, fostering a secure and ready environment for everyone on campus.
