In a bid to ignite minds, spark curiosity, and unveil the power of Math and Science, Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba Campus) brought together all FEPSians from May 13th to 16th to celebrate the annual Math-Sci Week. This year’s theme, “Immerse, Empower, and Accentuate: Striving for Scientific and Mathematical Preeminence Amidst the New Normal,” set the tone for a week filled with dynamic activities and competitions.

The event aimed to emphasize the importance of nurturing curiosity and fostering a love for education. To achieve this, FEPSians participated in various activities and competitions meticulously prepared by the teachers and student leaders of the Math and Science Departments, resulting in yet another successful Math-Sci week celebration.

One of this week’s highlights was the Science and Mathematics Quiz Bees, held in the school’s Activity Room, Science Laboratory, and various other classrooms. These competitions tested the intellectual capabilities of students from grades 1 to 10, who showcased their knowledge of various Math and Science concepts. The dynamic environment ignited a spirit of intellectual curiosity and critical thinking among the participants.

The Poster-Making contest was another exciting event, encouraging students to use their artistic skills to create captivating imagery. This vibrant activity inspired students to depict their interpretations of both numbers and nature, allowing them to express their passion and talent for art, while highlighting the values of Science and Math.

Adding an element of fun and engagement, the Math and Science raffle took place every first and second break. Students had the opportunity to buy raffle tickets for a nominal cost of 50 fils. Participants would write their answers on their tickets to questions written on foam boards carried by roaming personnel. This hands-on exchange of knowledge and enthusiasm added a lively spirit to the event.

FEPSians from all grade levels contributed to the celebration by creating vibrant bulletin board designs. These designs blended the themes concepts, visually spotlighting the thriving Math-Sci Week and showcasing the students’ creativity and understanding of Math and Science principles.

The culmination of the week’s festivities was marked by the awarding ceremony, held in the campus science laboratory on the afternoon of May 16th. Winners of each competition were honored for their excellent performances and remarkable achievements. Awarded with certificates and medals, these specific students exemplified the capabilities and skills celebrated during this year’s Math-Sci Week.

Far Eastern Private School continues to encourage its students to explore limitless possibilities in the fields of mathematics and science. This year’s triumphant Math-Sci Week celebration wrapped up by inspiring students to ignite their minds and develop a passion for discovery and education. Through events like these, FEPS aims to cultivate a generation of curious, empowered, and scientifically adapt individuals ready to face the challenges of the future.
