To further enhance students’ talents and skills through moral education, the Supreme Student Council and the Social Studies Club hosted this school year’s annual Moral Education Week with the theme, “Nurturing Values and Ethics through Talents and Creativity.” from the 6th to the 9th of May 2024.
This year’s event aimed to provide a comprehensive approach to education by integrating moral values with creative expression. It featured a range of activities and workshops designed to empower students to explore and develop their talents in alignment with moral principles.
The “Color-Me Contest” was an enriching activity for the KG department, offering young learners an opportunity to discover diverse cultural symbols and motifs. Through this contest, they were encouraged to explore various artistic styles and traditions.
To celebrate the beauty of language and diversity, the “Poem-Writing Contest” enabled young poets from Grades 4-10 to express their understanding of shared values such as kindness, empathy, and fairness through poetic compositions. The “Poem-Recitation Contest” allowed budding poets from Grades 1-4 to memorize and perform poems, emphasizing values and morals. These contests not only helped students convey their deep understanding of ethics but also fostered their poetry writing and recitation skills.
The “Song-Writing Contest” inspired young songwriters from Grades 7-10 to compose songs celebrating cultural diversity, equality, and human rights. This contest provided students an opportunity to showcase their rhythmic talents while cultivating their moral values and ethical principles.
Additionally, the “Poster-Making Contest” allowed contestants from Grades 7-10 to exhibit their artistic skills and insights on morality, values, and ethics. In this contest, participant conveyed messages promoting cultural diversity through their creative artwork.
A popular feature of the event was the “Henna Booth,” which celebrated the rich cultural traditions of the United Arab Emirates, where students volunteered to apply henna tattoos, demonstrating their appreciation and active participation.
On May 16th, students who participated in various contests were recognized for their eager participation and outstanding performances, no matter how small the event. This annual event provided FEPSians with a unique opportunity to explore concepts of moral integrity, values, and ethics through their talents and creativity It also deepened their understanding of cultural diversity, expanding their knowledge and insights.
