In participation of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, hosted at Expo Centre Sharjah, selected high school students from Far Eastern Private School, Al Shahba Campus, presented their spectacle of a puppet show, on the 5th of May 2024.

The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival was organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, and was held at Expo Centre Sharjah, from May 1 to 12, under the slogan “Be the hero of your story”. SPEA had chosen FEPS, Al Shahba Campus, to partake in the said event, to give the students an opportunity to express their talents and their creativity in the world of literature and culture.

To add on, the story that the students have chosen to base their puppet show on is the story of “The Two Horses – Effort Vs. Talent”, which was written by Mc Haven Adinail B. Tuason, one of the story writers in the FEPSian Torch.

After the presentation of the puppet show, the students conducted a puppet-making workshop dedicated to helping children make their very own puppets to play with.

In the end, the children left the event with a moral lesson from the story and a puppet as their souvenir, which will remind them that hard work and effort always beat talent. Additionally, the students who presented the puppet show were given a certificate and incentives, as acknowledgment for their hard work and their dedication to making the puppet show enjoyable for all.
