On November 28, 2023, at FEPS (Al Shahba), the Intramurals 2023 Opening Ceremony was met with thunderous acclaim and chants as the four team colors—Red Ares, Green Achilles, Yellow Athena, and Purple Hermes—came together to display their battling spirit!
FEPSians from KG-1 to Grade 10 with their team colors arrived with unparalleled enthusiasm as the Intramurals 2023 were about to begin. Throughout the ceremony, Madam Maria Teresa Sales Al Ansari and Sir Hamdan Al Ansari, together with Ma’am Lena Calafato, are also in attendance, supporting the unmatched spirits of FEPSians with smiles of delight.
During an interview, Sir Hamdan Al Ansari, the Managing Director, expressed his happiness and best wishes for the FEPSians’ future achievements, saying, “The parents, staff, and the whole community were really happy, and it was amazing.”
The day started with an opening color parade, followed by an incredible performance by the Majorettes and Drum & Lyre that left guests awestruck. The four captains of the various teams assembled to demonstrate sportsmanship prior to the event’s official start; as was traditional in the past years, the lighting of the torch was not overlooked. Grazella Sibal, a student in Grade 10D, gave a speech about the background of intramural sports as an introduction.
The four teams showed off their amazing energy before the intramurals in 2023 began by showcasing their team yells. Afterwards, as they take the stage to represent their teams, the contestants for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023, representing the different team colors, are captivating and stunning as they strike their best poses.
Following all of this, the crowd erupted in ecstasy as Sir Nelson Patungan, the sports activity coordinator, declared the Intramurals 2023 officially began.
The Closing Ceremony of the Intramurals 2023 was held on December 7, 2023, at FEPS (Al Shahba) to officially conclude the program.
To proceed with the awarding ceremony, students from the elementary and high school departments gathered on the main ground alongside their respective teams with pride and joy. FEPSians filled the atmosphere with excitement as they heartily cheered for their teams.
As the ceremony started, the winners of each game throughout the event were announced and invited to the stage to be rewarded with a trophy and a medal by our sports activity coordinator, Mr. Nelson Patungan, and our beloved principal, Ms. Mary Jane P. Onato, as a token of appreciation for their remarkable performance, good sportsmanship, and participation in the games.
When the Red Ares was announced as the FEPS Al Shahba Intramurals 2023 Overall Champion, they proudly cheered with fulfillment after a protracted wait and a wild ride of emotions.
As the day came to a close, so did the program; the Intramurals 2023 officially ended. Leaving FEPSians with lifelong memories as they demonstrated their unwavering spirits and sportsmanship while forming friendships with one another throughout the intramurals.
