On the 29th and 30th of November 2023, the Red Ares’ waved their flag for their blissful victory in the Table Tennis Championship for both the high school girls and boys divisions.
Table Tennis Girls Division
Gwen Feratero and Micca Francisco secured the third-place position for the Yellow Athena after winning against Chelsey Paulino and Sheika Panopio of the Green Achilles, with the scoreboard reading 15-10.
Moving on, Lhyanna Sagun, alongside Arianna Castro, brought the championship trophy home to the Red Ares’ after a close fight with their opponents, the Purple Hermes, represented by Mikaela Balisi and Jameela Paladan. The battle ended with a score of 25-20, crowning the Red Team as the Champions of the Intramurals Table Tennis Match 2023 in the Girls Division.
Furthermore, Sagun and Castro claimed to not have been trained enough for the match, which made the competition extremely challenging. Nonetheless, they were delighted to represent their team, the Red Ares’.
Table Tennis Boys Division
The fight began with James Mamburan and JC Arcega of the Green Achilles competing with Andrei Ayson and Dex Obcena of the Yellow Athena to determine which team occupies the third and fourth-place positions. With a 5-point lead, the Green Achilles was placed third and the Yellow Athena last, ending the match with a score of 15-10.
Onward to the championship game. Xyryx Nulla, with Jeremy Diola representing the Red Ares, secured the win for their team, which was playing against the Purple Hermes, which was represented by Carl Soquerata and Jiro Regala. The match was officially concluded with the scoreboard reading 25-20.
Evidently, all four teams showed how they were truly deserving to take home their trophies after the extreme and competitive fight that transpired.
