In celebration of the United Nations, FEPS (Al Shahba) hosted a poster-making contest with the theme “Full Implementation of The 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development For All Levels.” Students were able to showcase their artistic talents by making their visions and ideas come to life.

Students from grades 7 to 10 were given a chance to shine in the artistic domain. FEPSian students were able to interact with other participants, demonstrate their capabilities, and gain a lot of knowledge from this event in the allotted time.

All students who partook in this event were skilled and had raw talent. According to our 3rd placer, Alexandria Mikhaela C. Dizon, she felt quite confident as she participated in numerous poster-making contests throughout her school years. Not only that, but she also had an idea formed for the theme given. Here’s an excerpt from her regarding the theme that was given, “I think the theme can show what we students expect for the future of UAE and how impactful it is for our society.” Her work showed exactly what she meant by saying that.

In contrast to Alexandria’s confidence, Kheinrick Ram D. Castro felt rather stressed when they arrived at the poster-making spot. He found the contest both challenging and enjoyable as he obtained memorable experiences that allowed him to present his artistic abilities and let it be able to contribute to a meaningful cause. The work that he has made is an inspirational piece that made him stand as the 2nd-place winner.

Our 1st placer, Rebeca Gwen A. Magdaraog, found the contest and the experience it brought joyful. She stated that when she joined the contest, she learned of the sustainable goals we needed to apply in our lives. The competition fueled her competitive spirit, as she was able to enjoy her time with her fellow artists. As the clock was ticking, other participants cleaned up and went back to their classrooms until only a handful of them were left. Rebeca was one of the few who painted until the time given reached its end, and her efforts show that fire of joy and determination within her in her winning piece.

In this event, students were competing but were also working alongside each other. At the end of the competition, students learned new things, whether it be art-related or life value. All of the students who participated were recognized for their skills.

United Nations Day is a day to celebrate unity, peace, togetherness, and harmony. It is a day that we celebrate once every year; and this year, FEPSians showed their appreciation for this day.
