Excitement filled the air as the stage was set, and hearts brimmed with anticipation. It was a day of immense pride and accomplishment as the batch of 2022–2023 6th graders prepared to graduate elementary school, and the 10th graders reached the completion of their junior high school journey. The 22nd Commencement and 8th Completion Ceremony of Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba), which took place at the Westin Dubai Mina, was indeed a momentous occasion that marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
The start of the program flowed seamlessly, commencing with the resonating national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines, conducted passionately by Mhariam Ashlee V. Abouelyazid (10D) and Heart Zabelle S. Tomas (6C). The hall was filled with a sense of unity and pride. Following this, Raya A. Jamali (6D) delivered an Arabic prayer, and Soraya Bano F. Virtusio (10C) led the English prayer. Paula Mehetabel B. Arduo (6C) recited the school’s Vision, whereas Althea Fhaynne H. Laxamana (10D) presented the school’s Mission.
Ms. Mary Jane P. Onato, the esteemed School Principal, delivered an Opening Message, expressing her admiration for the graduates and completers and setting the tone for the day’s festivities. Following this were the Words of Welcome from Kyle Nathan C. Alcazar (6B) and Faith Ainika C. Tuason (10C), instilling an awakening spirit in the atmosphere.
Mr. Paul Benedict N. Yacap, the Academic Supervisor, introduced the Guest of Honor and Speaker and heightened the occasion’s significance. Hon. Kenneth Jim Joseph M. Jimeno, Vice Consul of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates, delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of education and encouraging graduates and completers to embrace their bright futures.
A heartfelt moment followed as a plaque of appreciation was presented to the school board, acknowledging their valuable contributions and support to the school community. Afterward, one of the most anticipated sections of the program went into place: Ms. Galiza T. Dejalos, the School Registrar, proudly presented the candidates for completion, while Ms. Mary Jane P. Onato, the School Principal, officially confirmed the successful completion of the elementary and junior high school curriculum.
Finally pronounced as graduates and completers, Haqqi Huibert D. Ilagan (6B) spoke for Grade 6, and Jessamyn M. Guinanao (10C) represented Grade 10, expressing heartfelt Words of Gratitude on behalf of their fellow FEPSians, recognizing the unwavering support and guidance they received throughout their journey. Joms Einsley O. Cana (10A) then led the gathering in reciting the Pledge of Loyalty, affirming the class of 2023’s commitment to upholding the values and principles instilled during their time at FEPS.
The parents and graduates shared a joyous meal prepared by the catering team of the venue, cherishing the precious moments of this special day. Satisfied with the scrumptious meal, the students and guests were also entertained by the tribute videos prepared by each class.
And after a refreshing dinner, the anticipated awarding ceremony took place. The accomplishments were acknowledged and celebrated as the graduates and completers received their awards, respective medals, and certificates alongside their parents and loved ones.
Emotions ran high as the Grade 6 graduates and Grade 10 completers came together, their voices harmonizing in a touching graduation and completion song. It was a gentle reminder of the milestones they had reached and the memories they would cherish as they bid farewell to their junior high school years. A tribute song was also showcased by the class of 2023, wherein they took the opportunity to show their appreciation and utmost love to their parents by giving gifts and writing heartfelt letters.
With the singing of the FEPS Hymn and a final recessional, the ceremony came to a close, leaving a lasting impression on all those in attendance. The graduation and completion ceremony at FEPS (Al Shahba) marked not only the end of a chapter but also the beginning of new possibilities and adventures. As these students embark on their next academic endeavors, they will bring along the memories, lessons, and friendships forged during their golden time at Far Eastern Private School, Al Shahba Campus.
