The Drum and Lyre Band and Maharlika Dance Troupe of Far Eastern Private School dazzled the audience with their talent at the Dubai Barrio Fiesta 2022 by participating in the parade of colors and performing outstanding intermission numbers at Zabeel Park.
The ‘Emirates Loves the Philippines’ kindly invited students of FEPS to perform at the Barrio Fiesta. This was in collaboration with other schools and communities from all over the UAE. When the selected students arrived and started getting ready for the parade, the venue was buzzing with excitement. The music of the drummers and lyrists signaled the beginning of the parade and attracted everyone’s attention to the mesmerizing majorette performance. As the parade of colors carried on, the dance troupe not only exhibited their beautiful costumes but also bright smiles as they marched along. The Drum and Lyre were the first to perform on stage after the parade.
As soon as the presentations began, FEPSians patiently awaited their call to the stage while the dancers prepared themselves for their performance. As soon as the Maharlika Dance Troupe was called to the stage, a large audience gathered in front as everyone was captivated by the wide variety of music and groups that were given the chance to perform on stage. The crowd was awestruck by the flawless coordination between all the dances. A standing ovation followed the end of the impressive performance.
Seeing their efforts and hard work pay off was a pleasure for all of the performers. With the school’s involvement in different events, students can enhance their skills through a wide range of opportunities and resources. Students should not only excel academically but also be capable of giving time and effort to perfecting skills. FEPSians’ confidence and passion are truly inspiring in performances like the Drum and Lyre, Majorette, and Dance Troupe. The talents and proud smiles of FEPSians never fail to capture the audience’s attention.
