The UAE National Day is celebrated to mark the Spirit of the Union of the Emirates since 1971. In honor of the country’s 51st anniversary, FEPSians paraded early on November 29, dressed in stunning UAE costumes, and showcased their talents through Arabic dances.

Students and staff of Far Eastern Private School (Al Shahba) showed up in UAE traditional wear to show their solidarity towards the Emirates. The celebration began in full force as FEPSians decorated the halls in red, green, white, and black in anticipation of the UAE Day.

The program was led by the masters of ceremony —Jessamyn Guinanao, Faith Tuason, Soraya Virtusio, and Mhariam Abouelyazid for the girls’ block. Meanwhile, James Salandanan, Zareth Lim, and Edcel David led the program for the boys’ block.

The wondrous event started with a parade, giving the spotlight to the representatives of each class who all wore the UAE national costume, along with elegant accessories from head to toe. Indeed, FEPSians are not afraid to express their endearment for the United Arab Emirates. Shortly after, the students settled on the main ground for the singing of the National Anthem and Invocation.

With representatives from each class conquering the stage to showcase their costumes with confidence, the announcement of winners was one of the highlights of the event.

Aside from that, selected students also prepared fascinating performances to pay tribute to the heritage and history of the UAE. As they danced their hearts out whilst wearing traditional costumes, the spirit of the UAE’s union was undoubtedly at the core of the occasion.

The emcees brought the program to a close by expressing their sincere gratitude to the administrators and students who took part and exerted utmost efforts to make the event possible for everyone.

After two years of Covid restrictions, we could all finally come together and have the opportunity to commemorate the UAE National Day, with the whole school celebrating the history, culture, and traditions of the Emirates. The ways of celebration may differ throughout the country, but our love and appreciation for the UAE keep us united.
