To commemorate Cultural Fun Day in Sharjah EXPO, accredited schools compete in literature and creative events under the Sharjah Book Authority on Nov. 6, 2022.
With the theme, “Filipino readers of today, leaders of tomorrow,” the Kabayan Cultural Fun Day 2022 showcased a multitude of performances and activities, giving visitors an exhibition of Filipino culture.
Filipino students in the UAE captivated the audience with Speech Choirs and Street Dances. The 41st Sharjah International Book Fair featured intermission numbers, painting competitions, as well as Science and Technology activities.
Following the competing schools’ presentations was the announcement of winners. The Street Dance awardees were NFPS, earning first runner-up, and AFPS, reigning as champions. Shortly after was the Speech Choir, with FEPS finishing first runner-up and AFPS winning the championship.
FEPSians also raised the school spirit with Science and Technology participants declared as champions. Lastly, the Painting Competition was won by Paula Arduo and Anaiah Estares, who were named first runner-up and champion, respectively.
The vibrant celebration was spearheaded by the Sharjah Book Authority and Philippine Consulate, with Vice Consul Paola Belle D. Ebora attending the event. As a result of everyone’s efforts, the day ended with Filipino pride and a greater appreciation for art and heritage.
